Participation in the 17th MSPO International Defence Industry Exhibition
From August 31st till September 3rd the CNPEP RADWAR SA took part in the 17th MSPO International Defence Industry Exhibition organised as every year in Kielce.
First time in the Kielce exhibition history representatives of the Polish defence
industry, associated in the Bumar Group, presented its offer in an integrated
way under the motto "Modern techniques of future in the Bumar Group". Whole
exposition, which occupied one of three exhibition pavilions, had not been
- as before - split into stands of particular companies but arranged by themes
and focused at five projects: air defence, soldier of future, ammunition-missile,
vehicles and training equipment.
In a frame of air defence exposition a conception of multi-layer modular ground
based air defence system (so-called GBAD - Ground Based Air Defence) had been
presented, as well as other - very short range air defence (VSHORAD) KOBRA system.
Its some units had been presented as mock-ups situated on the battlefield model
(among others the LOARA gun set, POPRAD AA missile launcher,
N26-3D and MMSR
radars, LA-3 and BCV command vehicles and REGA command automation elements).
The first reveal of the GBAD system, which was hailed by mass-media as a "Shield of Poland" (by analogy to American anti-missile shield), turned out to be a greatest success of the Kielce Exhibition. The system, being a joint proposal of CNPEP RADWAR SA, Telecommunications Research Institute (PIT) SA and MBDA multi-national concern, had been created with intention of the Polish combat capabilities upgrading. Its main idea is to integrate the Polish radars and AA command & control network of RADWAR and PIT with MBDA advanced missiles as well as with UMBRELLA, POPRAD and LOARA sets. Some system elements (as N-22-N(3D) radar on the JELCZ truck chassis, MMSR radar on a trailer and tracking head of POPRAD set) could be seen on our exposition.
On the MSPO opening day, Under-Secretary of State in the Polish Ministry of National
Defence Mr Zenon Kosiniak-Kamysz and Director of the Europe and South America
Division in the Armament Department of the French Ministry of Defence BrigGen
Alain Costes, signed an Intention Letter supporting efforts of both countries
industrial companies concerning a multi-layer air defence. That declaration makes
a final confirmation of the Polish-French cooperation, initiated in 2007 with
an agreement concluded by CNPEP RADWAR SA, PIT and MBDA, and concerning a joint
project - Long-term Air Defence System for Polish Armed Forces, complemented
next in July this year with an agreement between Bumar and MBDA - concerning
Polish air defence system modernisation
- assuming exchange of technology and
information necessary for system creation.
One of the most important topics of the new system promotion was its presentation
at a conference organised by Bumar and Altair Air Agency titled "Conception of
anti-aircraft and anti-missiles defence system for territory of Poland". The
conference, honoured by the presence of Under-Secretary of State in the Polish
Ministry of National Defence Mr Zenon Kosiniak-Kamysz and Deputy Chief of Air
Defence of the Polish MoND Col Waldemar Babinowski - as well as numerous representatives
of various units of the Polish Armed Forces, was an opportunity to get to know
a system architecture and simulation of its operation. The conference included
also lectures prepared by representatives of particular companies involved in
the program. RADWAR representative presented the lecture " Capabilities of using
of the Polish industry solutions for potential needs of AD system realization".
The GBAD system had not been the only novelty at this year's MSPO. We presented
also another quite new product - the TAFIOS-B automatic detector of chemical
and radioactive contamination, which production had been just launched.
The Salon of Kielce was also an opportunity for promotion of an integrated
drive system and synchronous servomotors, which could be seen in exposition
dedicated
to vehicles and accessories. Moreover, together with the CONSPAN company, demonstrated
the RUCZAJ-200 rucksack water purification system, as well as a bigger one
- KASKADA mobile system.
A integrated offer of the Polish defence industry aroused high interest of
visitors. The Bumar Group has been specially favoured - official delegation,
headed by
the Minister of National Defence Mr Bogdan Klich and commanders of the Polish
Armed Forces, started his tour at MSPO with a visit just on our stand. We had
also representatives of various military and police units, attaché accredited
in Poland and many foreign delegations.
RADWAR participation in this year's MSPO we can count to our successes - especially
as another DEFENDER statuette (exhibition main award) joined to our collection
- for the N-22-N(3D) e.g. Polish version of N-26 medium range radar, which
had been recognised as an innovative and technically original product.
