The TAFIOS-B is an automatic detector of chemical and radioactive contamination to be used for monitoring the concentration level of contamination and indicating emergency situations when the permissible maximum level is exceeded. It is designed for use in battlefield vehicles and important stationary facilities, like shelters, underground stations, central offices, storehouses etc. The device can be integrated with an external computer, to provide further processing, analysis and visualization of the contamination data. It can also be used for actuating pertinent executive devices to protect the crew from contamination hazard.

Technical Features

Urządzenie TAFIOS-B łączy w sobie kilka rodzajów detektorów, co pozwala mierzyć stężenie i klasyfikować podstawowe grupy bojowych i przemysłowych substancji trujących, wykrywać i mierzyć poziom promieniowania (natychmiastowego i opóźnionego) spowodowanego wybuchem atomowym, a także wykrywać impuls elektromagnetyczny występujący podczas wybuchu atomowego. Zaawansowane techniki detekcji i algorytmy przetwarzania sygnału zapewniają wysoką wiarygodność wykrywania i rozróżniania skażeń, małe prawdopodobieństwo fałszywego alarmu i krótki czas reakcji.
IThe TAFIOS-B combines several types of detectors to measure the concentration and differentiate between the main groups of chemical warfare agents (CWA) and industrial toxic agents (ITA), detect and measure the level of immediate and delayed radiation resulting from a nuclear explosion, as well as detect a nuclear electromagnetic pulse (EMP). The advanced detection techniques and signal processing algorithms used provide high reliability of contamination detection and classification, low false alarm rate and short response time.
The type and level of the detected contamination are presented on the display of the control panel, and the crossing of the alarm levels is indicated with logical interface outputs which can be used for continuous monitoring of the environment and automatic control of executive devices to protect the crew from contamination hazard.
The equipment is resistant to mechanical stresses, which makes it applicable in tanks and other tracked vehicles.
