Family N-26
Description
Purpose
The N-26 is a family of medium-range 3D search radars intended for tactical
use. Their 3D operation is based on a rotating phased array antenna which
features multiple stacked beams in the elevation plane. Such a design
allows to determine the azimuth, range and height of detected targets
while searching a wide range of elevation angles in short data renewal
period.
The N-26 family includes two basic mobile radars: the light-weight N-26B
and the armoured N-26C.
Both versions can be easily integrated into an air defence system. The
lightweight N-26B, which can be operated with its shelter detached from
the carrier, is also recommended as a gap filler in national airspace
radar surveillance systems.
