Description

This road-rule enforcement system combines several interoperating devices and is intended for detecting and identifying vehicles disobeying road rules, mainly speed limit or red light violation. The system automatically records such events in the form of a digital photograph together with the date, time and place of their occurrence, as well as the speed limit and the real speed of the vehicle infringing the rules. The collected data are automatically sent to a road traffic monitoring centre for further use: traffic data statistics, search for stolen vehicles and issuing fine tickets are typical uses.

System Components

• Photo radar - detecting vehicles speed, making photographs, recording the information on road-rule disobeying events (date and time, place, speed) and transmitting the acquired data to a road traffic monitoring centre.
• Red light crossing (RLC) sensor - monitoring vehicles proceeding through red lights by comparing the current traffic light status and the presence of vehicles, detected by means of inductive loops embedded in the roadway.
• Road traffic monitoring equipment - collecting and processing the data sent from the photo radars and RLC sensors to make further use of them (printing of fine tickets etc.)
